Nutritional
Buying local beef can be more nutritious for your family, with fewer possibilities of exposure to foodborne illnesses. This is because smaller local farms usually produce more naturally raised, free-range, grass-fed beef. When you buy local, the meat endures far less premature harvesting and stress during shipping and handling.
Switching to locally raised beef can have a significant impact on your health, even without making any other changes to your diet. This is because grass-fed, grain-finished beef is a healthier source of protein. Its benefits include things like less fat, more vitamins, and higher antioxidant profiles than mass-produced alternatives.
Tender and Convenient
Local beef is raised in quiet, calm areas where the stress is low for the cattle which helps produce that tender meat, we all want when we take a bite out of our favorite cut of meat. No more running to the local supermarket after a long day. Fill that freezer at home with the best meat today. The individual packaging of your special cuts makes it easy to thaw out a pound of hamburger or a T-bone steak in less than an hour and the family gets that consistent flavor of home-grown beef.
Cost Efficient
The cost to buy home grown meat averages out to a bigger bang for your buck. This price will vary with the market costs. All hanging weight prices are based on the current Retail Beef Price Composite (RBPC) and Retail Pork Price Composite (RPPC). Our current Beef price is $5.50/lb. hanging weight and our current Pork price is $4.00/lb hanging weight. The price is subject to change, either increasing or decreasing at the time of processing. That price is broken-down over-all cuts of meat. This includes Prime Rib, Filet Mignon, Ribeye's, roasts on down to hamburger and various other cuts. When you are eating $5.50/LB Ribeye steaks that's not too shabby.
When you know where the meatwas raised and how it was raised, you know you are getting a better product. Our beef is 100% grass fed and grain finished right here at the Sweet S Ranch. Absolutely no hormones were added to the beef. Why not start feeding your family healthier, less expensive, and better tasting beef?
